What Is Mold?

Commonly called mildew, molds (sometimes referred
to as "black mold") are a subset of fungi that produce
fluffy or powdery growth on surfaces.  Molds are
simple, microscopic organisms that break down dead
materials.  Toxic molds can grow on cloth, carpets,
leather, wood, sheetrock, insulation (and on human
foods) when moist conditions exist.

Molds may grow at high levels indoors, in a home or
building, if the right environmental conditions exist --
moisture, proper nutrients, temperature, and light.

Mold can contribute to a variety of health related
problems including, but not limited to:

* Asthma and Allergic Reactions
* Respiratory Problems
* Nasal and Sinus Congestion
* Burning, Watery, Red Eyes, or Blurry Vision
* Skin Irritations
* Sore Throat and Dry Cough
* Remediation Protocol

Advanced Pro samples for colony counts and mold
type identification from both surface and air. Our mold
remediation specialists then investigate the extent of
mold damage and the best method for remediation.
Many mold problems require containment during the
remediation. Advanced Pro erects polyethylene
barriers to seal off the contaminated area during
remediation to prevent any further spread of mold
spores.

Advanced Pro decontaminates affected areas using
HEPA filtered vacuums, HEPA filtered negative air
machine, air scrubbers, and mechanical scrubbing of
contaminated surfaces.
Advanced Pro specialists identify and remove/ restore
any contaminated materials (drywall, wallpaper,
insulation, carpets, fabrics, wood, plastic, tile, etc).
Advanced Pro uses antimicrobials to decontaminate
and kill microorganisms and to suppress or retard
microbial growth.  After the final clearance testing, the
affected area is ready to be reconstructed to pre-loss
condition.
